Colours of Delhi: Painting a City That Feels

We live in a city that runs on power, systems and speed. But cities don’t live on efficiency alone.

Colours of Delhi came from a simple belief — that art should not wait on the sidelines of progress.

With the support of BSES, the outer walls of power grids began telling stories. Stories of electric mobility, evolving infrastructure, and a city moving forward — while still holding close to Akshardham, the Lotus Temple and India Gate. Not as monuments, but as emotions.

This wasn’t about painting walls. It was about putting art back into everyday life.

Artists, volunteers and neighbours picked up brushes together. No one needed to be an expert — the wall became a shared canvas, and for a few days strangers became collaborators. A community feedback board slowly filled with notes, doodles and the words that started it all: you too can art.

Because we organise life to survive. But we survive to experience art in all its rawness. And when a city feels, it shines.
